commonwelth games 28-7-14

A SMALL NATION CAN ACHIEVE NEARLY ANYTHING

Northern Ireland got the silver medal in the lawn bowls after loosing 19-10 to South Africa a game that they were not in range of at any point and you would thing looking in during the match that South Africa has had complete controlof this match. This will be retiring Skip Neil Booths last match as him and his team of Paul Daly and Neil Mulholland go down happy.

Michael Dawson from Northern Ireland reached the 50 metre breaststroke semi final

Ward lost by split decision to an English favourite which means that there will be no medal for him and if he had the luck of the draw he could have went further in the competition

In the boxing Northern Irish boxer  Ruri Dail got trough to the quarter final of the boxing after winning his match in the flyweight division

SHELLY CELEBRATES HAPPY SUNDAY MORNING FOR AUSTRILIA

Mike Shelly from Australia won gold in the marathon with a personal best of  2:11:13 in silver was Steven Chelang of Kenya and the Bronze medal for Adrian Kiplino also from Kenya

Daniel won the gold and Kittel won the silver both from Kenya but Australians Jess Trenmore was able to get the bronze which made for a happy morning for Australia

Australia also managed to get the bronze medal after beating India in the team event

NEW ZEALAND CRUISE TO EASY WIN

In the women’s field hockey Canada cruised into a 4-1 win

Men’s hockey New Zealand beat India 3-0

IS ANNA MEERS TIME UP

In the cycling there were gold medals for both Jess Varnish and Stephanie Morton who had to beat old favourite Anna Meers

MOMENTS OF THE GAMES

The first moment of the games for me so far is the moment when a man from the solemn islands ran to the finish and was happy to finish the race as the fans clapped him on he was far behind the leaders and you saw how happy he was to finish the race

The other moment of the Commonwealth games was yesterday also when Erraid Davies won a bronze medal in the pool and she is only 13 years old

NEWZELANDS UNBEATEN COMONWELTH RUN IS OVER

New Zealand lost their Commonwealth title last night after loosing 17-12 to South Africa this is a title that they have never lost before

In the Bronze match Australia hammered Samoa by 24-0. I was disappointed not to see England in the semi finals
